During a troubled childhood Christina took solace is comics, animation, and storytelling. Her first inspiration was the movie “Cat’s Don’t Dance”. The color, music, and characters made her happy and she thought “If I could make stuff like this, I could make people happy too!” Ever since then she has followed that dream and absorbed as much as she could!
After going to the Art Institute of California – Los Angeles for three years to learn animation, she realized her true love in the story telling field was comics and graphic novels, and ever since she has been, making her own comics, contributing to anthologies, and working as a colorist and flatter for other artists. Christina’s story ideas have truly taken to heart “write what you know.” She focuses mainly on mental health and LGBTQ issues. Stories like “Gardenia” and her run of journalistic comics “Social Hangover” are great examples of that and are some of her most popular works. Representation is also very important to her as is evident by her multitude of characters with different backgrounds. As an artist, Christina is always moving forward and getting better. Balancing her career with family life with her Daughter and husband has been a challenge, but she has risen to it at every occasion. Christina Lives in Toronto, Canada with her Husband, Daughter and four cats, where she does her best to get work done while fighting off the cold of the Canadian winters. |
